Classroom Happenings:
We have been very busy these first few days getting to know each other, learning our classroom procedures and expectations. It is so important to work very hard at establishing these at the beginning of the year. So far, this class is exceptional and they are doing such an amazing job!

We have also been reading so many wonderful books, establishing our fact fluency baseline, exploring the tools and programs we will use throughout the year.

Looking Forward:
As I said at Back-To-School night, I would like to make things as easy as possible for you all this year. I will send out one food permission form for the entire year. The 3rd grade team has not finalized all of the food-related activities for the year, so I am going to hold off on posting that permission.
I will also post a google form for any parents who are interested in volunteering in our class. At Quest, each family is required to volunteer 30 hours per school year. Joining our class is an easy way to earn volunteer hours and support your child’s education.
If you have not done so, please download the BLOOMZ app and join our class. Our class code is B4AW7S
BLOOMZ is an important part of our communication, and it is how I will send out last minute reminders for upcoming events, and notify you of any last minute changes.

Homework:
For the moment, homework will only consist of 20 minutes of reading each night. Our fact fluency homework will begin next week. Students will have practice accessing their math practice program at school so they will be pros by the time they need to do it at home.

Thank you, again, for all you’ve done to get these kids ready to start an incredible year!
Work hard. Be kind.
