***Third Grade is the first year for end-of-year testing. I would like to organize a project to support and encourage the kids as that take the RISE for the first time. This is something that families would create at home, return to school, and then students will be surprised by the creations when they walk into the classroom on the first day of testing. If you are interested in participating, please send me a Bloomz message or email.***
Announcements:
We are having an assembly on Monday to kick off our school-wide service project: Long Walk to Water. Throughout the week we are challenging students to help raise money by bringing in coins. We hope to raise enough money to donate a water well to provide clean drinking water in Southern Sudan.
Play practice is in FULL SWING! Please make sure your child is here so they do not miss any valuable rehearsal time.
The class has worked so hard this year writing their own Poetry books. Student Treasures will publish the books and give each child one FREE book. In order to receive your free book YOU MUST RETURN your order form, even if you do not want to order additional copies
Arts Festival–April 26 @ 5-8 pm
Food trucks, art contest, chalk art contest, student art showcase, tie dye.
Students can sign up here for the Student Art Showcase!
What’s Happening in Math
Next up in Measurement is AREA. Although our Multiplication Madness Celebration is over, please continue to review facts to maintain the fluency that has been developed. *WE ARE DOING A CLASS ACTIVITY USING CHEEZE-ITS THIS WEEK. The permission for this was signed at the beginning of the year. If anything has changed and you do not want your child to have cheeze-its, please let me know by email or Bloomz.
Reading Homework
Our goal is to have student’s read 20 minutes per night. Even when children are reading grade level and above grade level books it is still imperative that they spend time reading out loud. This can be done by reading to a parent or younger sibling!
Work hard. Be kind.
