Coming up this week:
This week we will dive into Ready Math Unit 1. Last week we worked on learning the 6-step problem solving method, and now we get to apply it. Also, we will begin our differentiated Math work groups and the self-paced, individualized iReady program.
Our Reading/ELA work will focus on the basics of Close Reading. We will be working on finding the genre, theme, and author’s purpose by reading and re-reading a text. Students will also be using close reading techniques to identify context clues in order to gain better comprehension.

Homework:
Math homework will begin this week! Please use the Student Links page from the Quest webpage to access Reflex. Your child has learned how to log on and use the program, and should work on Reflex AT LEAST 3 times per week. Students need to work until they have earned their ‘green light’ which should only take about 15 minutes per night.
Reading homework continues to be 20 minutes per night.

Thank you for all you do to support your child’s learning and success!
Work hard. Be kind.
