I am adding one optional component to our class’s homework that I think can greatly influence the students’ reading abilities.  Each week I will give our class online access to the book that we are reading in small group.  If the student reads it at home with an adult or older sibling, they will receive extra Dojo points for the week.  For those who cannot access the book online, I have a few extra copies that I can check out to you.  I will need a parent note if this is the case.  Please know that these are brand new books and will need to be replaced if lost or damaged. 

This book can be found by clicking on the “Wonders” icon in “Student Links.”  From there they will know how to login to their account and find the assignment in the “To Do” list.  It will be labeled “Weekly Leveled Reader.”  I’m excited for the potential growth that this specific practice can provide!

Quest Academy has a club activity that students can sign up for. Space is limited. The first club is a crocheting club. See the attached form if you are interested, you can print the form and return to the office by the date requested on the form.

Dear Parents,

In order to help raise our reading levels within our classroom, We would like to have two volunteers come in daily from 11:00-12:00 am, Monday through Thursday.  You will be using the HELPS program to read with several students with the hope of increasing fluency and comprehension.  This is an amazing program that has worked well in the past.  If there is any way you might be able to come help, please click on the link below and let me know when you would be able to volunteer.  Thank you so much for your support!  We love your kiddos and want to see them succeed and make as much growth as possible.
