Lockdown Drill Thursday Morning

Parents and Students,

You should have received the below email from Dr. Dave regarding our scheduled Lockdown Drill tomorrow morning (Thursday, February 22nd).  Please talk with your students and let them know this is a drill and we practice them to make sure in a real situation we can keep them safe.  Please remind them that they must be extremely quiet and that we will always do everything in our power to keep them safe because we love them. We do not have the exact time of the drill.  If it is after 9:30am the students will be in the STEM Lab with Miss Ashlyn.

From Dr. Dave:
“We are having a lockdown drill tomorrow morning. I will be discussing the drill over the intercom with students and teachers a few minutes before the drill to explain our procedures. This may be something you want to discuss with your children ahead of time. I will reiterate to students tomorrow that this is just a drill. We generally talk about this drill being necessary to keep us safe in the event that someone dangerous entered our school. Just so you are aware, classroom lights are turned off, doors are locked, and students and teachers quietly stay hidden until the drill is over. We have received training in this area by local law enforcement, and we follow the guidelines and response protocol set forth by “i love u guys”. Click
here for more information. Please know that we are dedicated to keeping our students safe and we appreciate you entrusting us with your children. “

Here is information on the standard response protocol that we follow if you would like to review it with your students:
