Homework 1/2-1/4

No Homework this week.

1- Math Homework:
  • A letter titled “Dear Family” will be sent home in your child’s green take-home-folder (Monday).  This week’s math activity is a review of the same math activity from last week. Please have your student review it as the students still need some extra work on it.  It provides an activity to do together.  Please read the letter and invite your child to share what they know about the concept by doing the activity together. You do not need to return the math homework this week.
2- Daily Reading Fluency:
No homework reading passages due for this upcoming week or in the future. Reading Homework will now be through the online reading program Raz-Kids.

Beginning this week, our reading homework is changing to Raz-Kids.

Raz-Kids is an online leveled-reading program. Students can listen to books, read books, record themselves reading the books, take short quizzes to check for comprehension, and personalize their robot and rocket in the Star Zone.

3- Reading 20 minutes per day.  No need to submit minutes, but I strongly encourage you to make reading a priority. Reading comprehension strategies we are focusing on areHelping your child read a story and then retell the events from the story in the correct order. As well as making and confirming predictions. These comprehension strategies also assist them in preparing for our middle of year reading tests.
