F451 Essay Prompt

My 9th-graders are currently finishing up work on our Fahrenheit 451 unit.  Their final projects are due at the beginning of next week.  I also recently introduced their final writing prompt for the unit:  “Write a five-paragraph essay on someone who has influenced you just as Granger’s grandfather influenced him.  The person you write about may be someone who is still living or someone who has already passed away.  Include memories and stories about the person; then explain how your life is/will be different without him/her in your life.”

I am walking everyone through this writing prompt step-by-step.  Students’ prewrite/brainstorm for the prompt is due on Friday, December 11th (for B-Day students) or Monday, December 14th (for A-Day students).  I will post the due date for everyone’s rough draft on Monday.  Have fun, and good luck!
