About Me

I recently graduated from Weber State University in December of 2018 with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and an ESL minor.  I was able to work at Wasatch Elementary this last school year as a part time 5th grade teacher for my student teaching. This helped me to have valuable time in a classroom, learning more about my own teaching style. I’m now happy to call Quest Academy home and work with an amazing administration and 3rd grade team!
I am from the ShowMe state, Missouri, where I lived with my spouse and four boys till 2007.  We then moved west, where we have lived in Washington, Idaho and Utah. We have been in UT since 2012, in which time I made my plans to become a teacher a reality.  I have been married 21 years and have a house full of teenagers, video games and poodles. We love to do movie or board game nights with popcorn! I love to cook, sing, make beanie hats, walk my dogs, garden, go to fun events and travel.
I believe learning to read, write and think critically are essential to lifelong learning.  Love and Logic is an influence to my parenting and will show up in my classroom too. We will focus on how to problem solve with positivity this year, by practicing a “growth mindset”.  This means we will use “I can…”, instead of “I can’t…” to meet our challenges.  In our classroom we learn and explore together, so get ready to grow your mind and fill your heart!

“When you hook your brain to your heart, you’re twice as smart.” Gary Hogg
