Yearbook Cover Artwork

Quest families,

The time has come for us to select a yearbook cover for our 2023-24 elementary yearbook. We will be holding a Yearbook Cover Contest to select two students whose artwork will be featured on the front and back cover of the yearbook. This year, students can choose to do artwork that is created digitally or hand-drawn. Each entry must be brought in on a white 8 ½ X 11” paper, and include the school name along with the student’s first and last name in one corner. We will be looking for entries that represent this years theme which is “BE GREAT!”

Entries are due by Friday, January 5, at 8:30 am.

List of digital art programs suitable for children: Adobe Fresco, Gimp, Krita, Artweaver Free, ArtRange, Sketchpad, Astropad Studio, Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, Vectr, FireAlpaca, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Paint, Procreate, Tux Paint, Drawing for Children.

Feel free to call the school with any questions.

Thank you, and happy drawing!

Dec 4 – Dec 8

Welcome to December! Only 10 school days left before Winter break! I love this time of year
We are have fun things planned in class as long as we are still able to get our work done.
This week in math we are counting from 1 to 100 by 10’s and by 1’s. This would be helpful for us in class if parents also work with counting at home. Any counting helps especially getting through those teen numbers. 12, 13, 14, seems to be a particularly hard one to get passed for many students.

Upcoming Dates:
Dec 15 – Winter Party 8:30 – 9:30 (Volunteers welcome!)
Dec. 16 – Jan 1 Winter Break – NO SCHOOL

Nov 27 – Dec 1

Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with gratitude and delicious food!
Monday is Library and Folder day.
This week we will be sending home a “Snow Day Packet”. These will be kept at home just in case we have a snow day this winter. This will have things for the kids to work on if school is closed due to snow. We will also be sending home a paper in the front of their take home folders that could be used in case of absence. This is great to use if your student will be gone for multiple days in a row.

This Saturday, Dec 2 is the Reindeer Run and Breakfast with the Grinch. Please see previous post if you have any questions. Hope to see you there.

I am looking for some parents to volunteer to plan our Winter Party Friday, Dec 15 8:30 – 9:30 am. Please email me if you are interested. We would like to have at least 4 centers of activities the students can rotate to for the party.

Upcoming Dates:
Dec 2 – Reindeer Run and Breakfast with the Grinch
Dec 14 – In house field trip – Discovery Gateway
Dec 15 – Early Out Day 1:10 pm – Dress Down Day

Oct 30 – Nov 3

I am so glad I was able to meet and discuss each of my amazing students over parent teacher conference.
One thing I was going to mention to all families but forgot to mention to some. On the right side of my blog page. I have a widget that connects to a form for snacks. I know most of you send your child with a snack each day but just in case they don’t have one, please fill it out and I can share with them some of the snacks I have had donated. I will update the form as necessary if we get other snacks as to have permission for everything.

This week is going to be a fun one. Red ribbon week, we call “Positive Me week” kicks off tomorrow:
Monday – Pajama day “Don’t let drugs ruin your dreams” and Library Day
Tuesday – Halloween Parade “Scare away drugs” Halloween Parade 9:00 am, Early out 1:10
