100 Days Smarter and Other Important Reminders

1Image result for free clip art for 100th day of schoolTomorrow is our 100th day of school…YEAH!!! WE are SO EXCITED that we are 100 DAYS SMARTER. To celebrate our 100th day, I am asking each student, if they choose too, to bring in 100 items to show  the class.

All items need to fit in a zip lock bag, AND, be kept in their backpacks/cubbies, until we are ready to show the items.  ALL ITEMS will be returned home at the end of the day. Please no items that have been banned (like Pokemon cards)
*Have fun thinking of a creative or unique collection you want to bring :)

I double checked the permission slip form I had everyone sign at the beginning of the year, which allows for the consumption of snacks and sugary foods during our parties, which include our 100th Day Celebration.

***PLEASE BEWARE that I have a couple students with PEANUT ALLERGIES, AS WELL AS MILK ALLERGIES, when sending your student with their 100 items. I am allowing food items since it was on the permission slip.

2- Image result for free valentines day clip artOur Valentines Day Party will be on Tuesday, February 14th from  1:30-2:45. Our class is responsible for the 1st grade treats this time.

I need Parent Volunteers to help with the creation and distribution of the treats  as well as coming up with what that treat will be. I would prefer that the treat NOT BE cookies or cupcakes. There are students in first grade who have allergies to peanuts, gluten and milk.

We will still have rotations as in the past, however there will only be two rotations this time instead of 5. Our hope is that by having only 2 rotations, students will have more time to enjoy the games, crafts and treats. The kids will consume the treats in the rooms that the games are in so keep that in mind when thinking about a “Treat Idea. It could be as simple as a box of candy hearts…

Stores are now stocked and ready for Valentine’s Day.  To help you properly prepare for our in class celebrations, here are the Quest guidelines in regards to Valentine’s:

“Per Quest’s wellness policy, all food in the classroom must be preapproved. Furthermore, parental permission is also required for students to consume food during class parties. Due to this policy—as in years past—student Valentines cannot contain edible items. Suggestions for nonfood Valentines include pencils, erasers, bubbles, stickers, etc. Please note that such items, including Valentine cards, are in no way required.”
