Quest Families,
We’re excited that October is upon us and wanted to share some of the activities we have planned. Just as we did last year, we’ll have a Halloween parade in the morning. This activity will take place on Friday, October 31, “witch” is a short day. Quest families are welcome to come watch their children parade through the Q2 gym from 9:00 to 10:00AM. Though only Kindergarten through 6th Grade students will participate in the parade, Jr. High students are welcome to wear costumes as well (or, students could choose to treat this day as a free dress down day). Notice that this is different from last year. Please note that costumes should be modest and without blood and gore. Though students may paint their faces, masks and weapons are not allowed. Anything that depicts violence is banned (knives, guns, swords, spears, etc.). If you have questions about costume accessories, please contact us. The theme for this year’s costumes–if you choose to participate–is characters from books. Please note that this is just a suggestion and students are welcome to wear any costume that follows the above guidelines. Just to reiterate, no blood, either depicted on the costume or in makeup, is allowed.
After the parade, Kindergarten through 5th grade will have classroom parties. Though treats are allowed, parent permission is still needed. These treats must be planned by the teacher/room parent and store bought. Permission slips will be sent home a week before the party so everyone is aware of specific items being served.
Just as a parking lot reminder, please remember to signal, shoulder check, and patiently wait to merge when leaving curbside. This will help everyone stay safe and decrease frustration levels. Thanks for your help.
We have been asked to share with you that last Thursday during fun hall an iPad mini (in a red case) disappeared from the Q2 gym. Would you help us out by asking your children if they have seen it?
Photo retakes will be this Friday, October 3. Any students who have not been issued an i.d. card or did not have their picture taken will have the opportunity to do so on this day.
Remember that Fall break begins at 1:00PM on Tuesday, October 14. We’ll see you back at school on Monday, October 20. Also, there is no school on Friday, October 24, as this is a teacher professional development day.
Parent Teacher Conferences for this month are on Thursday, October 30 from 3:30 to 5:30PM.
Thanks for all you do! We love your children and are excited for October’s upcoming events.
