STEM and Singing!

Parents,

This Friday is our first STEM project and our class is asking for donations of any of these materials so we can have an awesome STEM project! If you could send them in with your child sometime this week, that would be appreciated! Anything will help!

Fieldtrip!

We are taking our first field trip on September 28th to This is the Place. We are sadly limited on the number of parents we can take on the trip. Please indicate on the form if you are interested and I will have a random drawing of interested parents and let you know soon if you are chosen (Please note: NO SIBLINGS are allowed to attend by request of This is the Place). Don’t worry as I am sure we will have other trips this year for you to attend.
We are asking for a $5 donation to help cover the cost of the trip.
Please sign the Google form giving your permission. If the form is signed early enough you have the option of getting your child’s lunch from the school. There will be an Uncrustable, choice of milk, and a few other options to go along with the sandwich.

Homework and Houston

Parents,

I am not planning on assigning any homework for the next couple of weeks. I will definitely keep you informed on when I start assigning homework.

This week, I talked with our class about what happened in Texas and the awful tragedy that it was. We talked about how our actions affect others and so your kids decided it would be a good idea to send letters to a 4th grade class in Houston and tell them about how sorry we were that they were going through this. Your kids came up with the idea, wrote the letters, and even picked the school that it should go to in Houston. IMG_1880
I feel very lucky to have some of the sweetest 4th graders in the world!

Picture Day!

picture-day
Parents,
I hope your kids have enjoyed the first couple of days of school! I sure have!
This Monday is picture day! Students need to be dressed in school uniforms because these are the pictures that are going on their Quest badges. I sent home a paper with them today about purchasing options. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!

Also, just a reminder that I need parents to download the Bloomz app on their phones and join our classroom if they haven’t already done so. Our classroom code is: 98TH5K

Please email me or Bloomz me if you have questions!

Back to School!

Hello! The school year is starting up and I’m getting so excited to meet my new class and their parents! Back to school night is this Monday – August 14th. There will be 30 minute rotation sessions: 5:30, 6:00, 6:30, and 7:00. You can bring your required materials then or you may bring them to the first day of school – August 16th.

Here is an entertaining video that should answer any questions you have about parking here at Quest:

My primary method of communicating with parents will be through Bloomz or through email. Bloomz is an app that will message you directly to your phone. I will also send out pictures and contact parents about volunteer work using Bloomz. Here are the instructions  on how to make an account in our class:
