Week of March 4th-8th

I hope you all had a great weekend!  It’s officially March, and it’s basically spring. Yay!! 🙂  There are only 3 months of school left!!!  Thank you for all the many parents and grandparents that came and volunteered at the Aquarium last week!  It was such a fun field trip! 

**I posted last week about the President Google Slides reports for the week of March 11th-15th.  Please go back to the post to see when your child presents.  Parents are more than welcome to come and watch their presentations.**

The Multiplication Madness is going strong.  All the students passed off their 0’s, 1’s, 2’s, 3’s, 4’s, 5’s, 6’s, 7’s, 9’s, 10’s and 11’s last week.  This week we will be passing off 8’s and 12’s.  Your students need to be able to pass of their multiplication facts 0-12 by March 28th.  If you have any questions, read the post from a few weeks ago with all the details.  Thanks for all your hard work at home!!!

Homework:

 Math:  Each student will need to get onto www.reflexmath.com and complete their “green light” Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (4 sessions).  I will teach the students how to login to the app/website.  Just in case they don’t remember, the class username is “waddell3” and all passwords are “rams”.

Reading:  Each student needs to read at least 20 minutes (Monday-Thursday).  Please print off the Reading Log, fill out the form and return on Friday.  The Reading Log can be cut into fourths and used over the next four weeks.  If for some reason, you can’t print it off, please write it on paper instead. 🙂

President Google Slide Reports

We have all been working very hard to research our U.S. Presidents these last few weeks and creating a Google Slides presentation.  The students will be finishing them up the next week or so.  They will be presenting them to the class the week of March 11th-15th.  Parents are welcome to come watch your child present their report at 12:30 on these afternoons.  This is the tentative schedule for presenting the reports:

Monday (3/11)- Aspen, Garrett, Madelyn, Maylee, Matyx
Tuesday (3/12)- Hailey, Noah, Heath, Gabe, Litzy
Wednesday (3/13)- Lincoln, Rome, Miranda, Connor, Hannah

Reminders about the Aquarium field trip tomorrow!!!

We are so excited to head out on our first 3rd grade field trip tomorrow!  Just wanted to post about some important things to remember.

Please be at school ON TIME because we will load the bus promptly at 8:30 AM.
-Students need to bring a backpack to carry their lunch, water bottle and jacket.       Students can also pack a book, game, etc…
-Students need to wear school uniforms.
-Please do not send money with students.  They do not need to purchase anything there.
-Students can bring devices if parents allow it, but we are not responsible for lost or stolen property.
-Parents can drive their child to and/or from the Aquarium, but need to let me know and sign them out (with me) before you leave at the end of the day.

Dr. Seuss’ Birthday Celebration

Hey there!  Dr. Seuss’ Birthday is on March 2nd, so we will be celebrating him on this Friday, March 1st.  The students can choose one, two or three of the below activities.

1-Show everyone a Thing 1 or Thing 2.  Grab a friend and dress up as Thing 1 and Thing 2.
2-Green Eggs and Ham anyone?  Wear a green shirt, pants, socks or accessories to school.
3- How do those Who’s do it?  Wear crazy Who hair!

February 25th-March 1st

Valentine Friend “Ram” Grams for Sale!

Friend “Ram” Grams will be on sale Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week before and after school for 25 cents each. Kindergarten-4th grade Ram Grams will be sold in the Q1 building, and 5th grade-junior high Ram Grams will be sold in Q2. Ram Grams will be delivered on Thursday morning to the students’ homerooms or first period class, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

I hope you all had a fabulous February weekend!  I thought January was going to last FOREVER!!!  We are over half way done with the school year!!   We are working so hard, and it is amazing to see the amount of growth that these kids have made!!!  Thank you to all the parents that came to meet with me last week at Parent/Teacher Conferences.
