Here are the February poems and the Great Brain Report.  Please have your child practice their poems and recite at least one poem to the class by the end of the month.  Also, your child needs to read one chapter book and complete the great brain report and present it to the class by the end of the month as well.  Thanks so much for all your hard work!

Valentine’s Day Party

We will be having a Valentine’s Day Party on Thursday, February 14th from 1:30-3:00.  Any parents willing to volunteer and run a center during the party, please let me know.

Also, please send 25 Valentine cards with each of your students on Valentine’s Day to pass out.  (Students can also bring their own Valentine mailbox or bag, we will not be making them at school.)  To make passing them out easier, please only have your child sign their name on each card–PLEASE DO NOT ADDRESS EACH CARD.  Another reminder, please do not attach candy or food to the Valentine Cards, but you can be creative and do pencils, erasers, etc.

Multiplication Madness!!!

We are hitting multiplication facts really hard in math right now.  Starting Monday, January 28th,  Multiplication Madness will begin!  Please start drilling and multiplying the multiplication facts with your students this week.  The students are expected to drill their math facts at home along with learning strategies at school.  The students have to pass off their 0’s to 10’s for a required grade. Every student will be given 10 problems to pass off in one minute. Multiplication facts are a huge part of the third grade math core curriculum. The students will have to spend time at home working on these facts in order to pass them off in the time table we have set.  The students will have the opportunity to pass off their multiplication facts as many times as they can before the celebration.  We will focus on one fact a week, I will let you know what facts we are working on each week.  Please check the planner tomorrow to make note of the schedule.  Our Multiplication Madness Banana Split Celebration will take place on Thursday, March 28th from 2:00-3:00.

Each part of the Banana Split is one of the multiplication facts that needs to be passed off.  You will get that part of the Banana Split ONLY if you pass off that actual fact.
0’s – Placemat
1’s- Napkin
2’s – Bowl
3’s – Spoon
4’s – Banana
5’s – Scoop of Strawberry Ice Cream

***CHANGE to Spring Parent Teacher Conference***

I am SO sorry to do this to all of y’all, but Quest decided to change the dates of Spring Parent Teacher conferences today…so, I need to delete the sign-ups on BLOOMZ and put another one up.  Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks in advance for your flexibility.  The new dates are Tuesday, January 29th and Thursday, January 31st from 3:30-7:45.

Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences Sign-Up

The Spring PTC dates are Tuesday, February 19th from 3:00-7:45 pm and Wednesday, February 20th from 3:00-7:45.  Please sign-up on the BLOOMZ app for the time that best fits the schedule for your family.
My classroom PTC schedule is different than the Quest PTC schedule, due to the fact that I will be in Salt Lake City for a training on Thursday (2/21) of that week.  Please make note of the difference.  Thanks for being flexible with my schedule.
