Life can be very busy, so I am giving parents the option to make a $30.00 cash donation to the class, and I will purchase all needed supplies on the list. All cash donations can be paid to the Q1 Office on or before Back to School Night, or you can pay online here: ONLINE PAYMENTS marking “other” and typing Strain Supplies.   This will cover all student supplies throughout the whole year. I will be purchasing these school supplies in bulk which will save you money for donating instead of purchasing these items yourself. I have itemized my list carefully to figure out a cost.

Please have your donation paid to the Q1 office on or before back to school night August 14, 2023.

Supply List
  • 1 Mead brand Primary Journal
  • 1 Composition notebook
  • 12 TICONDEROGA Pencils. (NO Mechanical pencils)
  • 2-4 large pink pearl erasers
  • 4 glue sticks
  • 6 black ink ultra-fine tip Expo markers
  • 1 container Clorox wipes
  • 1 pair scissors (kids safety scissors)
  • 1 box of 24 crayola crayons
  • 2 boxes of tissue
  • 1 box of washable markers
  • 1box of colored pencils
  • Girls:  Gallon size zip lock bags
  • Boys: sandwich size zip lock bags
  • 2 PLASTIC folders with inside pockets on both sides as well as the three brads in the middle. One yellow, and one blue.
  • If you last name starts with A-J please bring paper towels. If your last name starts with K-Z please bring watercolor paints
  • Over-the-ear headphones in a plastic bag, labeled with student’s name (We STRONGLY recommend purchasing a good pair of headphones, for your student to use for several years.  Students become very frustrated with headphones that do not work well or do not block out sound.  Earbuds tend to tangle very easily and don’t block out sound well, which is frustrating for first-graders.  Please try to find the highest-quality, most tangle-free headphones possible. We use headphones multiple times throughout the day in the classroom. Think of it as an investment. You can spend a little more money and get a good set or a little money up front and end up replacing them often.  (Your student will also use them in future grades).
  • 1 standard-sized back pack.  Please DO NOT purchase the smaller-sized backpacks, as your student will be frustrated at not being able to fit books and papers neatly inside.  Book bags tend to be difficult for students to carry, especially when carrying heavy items.  Please do not purchase backpacks on wheels – these are surprisingly difficult for your student to navigate while walking in a line down the hallways.
  • Water bottle labeled with child’s name.  Please be sure that the water bottle is easy for your child to open/close and refill.
