This week our SOUND SPELLING CARD is ….. STRAW. The Sound is {aw} You can find this sound spelled: a, aw, au, augh, al. Be looking for words with this sound as you read this week!!

MATH = we are spending another week on Double Digit Addition!!

LAST WEEK WE TOOK A BREAK FROM OUR REGULAR READING ROUTINE AND THE KIDS ALL PARTICIPATED IN PUTTING ON A PLAY!! WHO KNEW THAT A SUITCASE FULL OF ODDS AND ENDS WOULD PROVIDE SO MANY OPTIONS FOR COSTUMES!! IT WAS SO FUN TO HAVE ALL THESE INCREDIBLE READERS WHO WERE UP TO THE CHALLENGE OF ANY PART AND THEY ALL ROCKED THEIR LINES!!

READING IS SO MUCH FUN!!

MARCH 21ST ROCK THE SOCKS

YEARBOOKS: The last day to purchase a yearbook will be Friday, March 24. Sales are online only, and you may find the link HERE, or at the top of our home page. You may purchase with a credit card, or save a convenience fee by selecting eCheck when you check out. 

In order for me to make sure all who are planning on having a YEARBOOK will you please fill out this FORM so I can check that against the order form being sent into the printer. (**It is NOT REQUIRED to buy a yearbook – I just want to make sure those who do order one get one!!)

We are going to REVIEW the sounds and High Frequency we have been working on over the past 5 weeks. PLEASE PULL OUT SOME OF THE PAST READING PASSAGES TO READ THIS WEEK AND PICK A UNIT (1 – 5) OF HIGH FREQUENCY WORDS TO CHALLENGE YOUR CHILD TO LEARN TO SPELL!!
A ROUTINE WE DO IN CLASS IS:
1. READ THE WORD
2. SPELL THE WORD (POINT TO AND SAY EACH LETTER)
3. CLOSE YOUR EYES AND SPELL THE WORD
4. WRITE THE WORD

Lost and Found-One of our parents generously donated clothing racks and time to hang many of the coats and jackets that have been living in our lost and found. Please encourage your students to check for any missing items often.
