With the addition of spelling homework, I imagine, the time to complete homework will increase. I will keep the math homework light this week. However, next week you can expect to see math homework increase. Homework should take about 30 minutes to complete. This 30 minutes does not include reading. Please click on Homework for an explanation of homework guidelines.
That being said I don’t believe that homework should become a nightly battle with your child or that it should take longer than the 30 minutes. If you find it taking longer than 30 minutes please let me know as soon as possible and we will make adjustments.

Mrs. Hutchinson, thanks so much for all you do. You are an amazing teacher and I’m glad Will is in your class this year. There should be and envelope for you in Will’s homework folder. Thanks for your concern for his success in school. It is much appreciated! Quick question, were the kids supposed to bring the notebook for the sorts from school? We have extras here at home but I just wondered if we needed to supply another one. Thanks again!

Thank You! Yes, they were suppose to bring it from school. I even had them pull one out of their desk and write spelling journal inside the cover. 🙂 I then explained back and forth every night with their planner.
