Milk Money

Hello Parents,

It has come to my attention that some of our students are NOT spending their milk money on milk. A concerned parent let me know that several of the students were talking about how they keep their milk money instead of buying milk. She even witnessed a few students pull the money out of their pockets and then put it back in to their pockets.

Students are also using money to purchase classroom tickets. These tickets are used for our class store and must be earned. They can not be bought from another student. Truthfully, the money spent on the tickets far surpasses the value of the ticket.

I don’t know who the students are and I thought it was a situation better handled at home since I am not in the lunch room. It is my understanding that the lunch people give students a receipt after paying for the milk. If it is a concern for you this is one way to check that the milk money is buying milk.

I love being a third grade teacher because this is the year that students are figuring out the world. I have a smart group of kids who have figured out how to financially benefit from the milk program. 🙂

Have a great weekend.
