I have REALLY good news to share with you all!!!  We are done with Words Their Way Sorts, so NO more spelling! Yay!  We are so busy trying to get ready for SAGE Testing the next few weeks.  We will be doubling up on math each day for the next two weeks to cover all the material before the testing.  It is very important for all students to be at school (on time) for the next three weeks.  We will be reviewing a lot to get ready for the SAGE test.  Thanks for all of your support!!

Homework for tonight!

We are skipping Chapter 14.3 for tonight’s math.  Please have your student do 15 minutes of Front Row Ed.  The class code is xfetrd.  We will be doing the math that is scheduled for the rest of the week on the days that they are assigned.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

Homework for the Week of April 20th!

***Homework Organizer***

Directions: Always keep the homework organizer in your homework folder. Each day place a check in the box when you finish your homework. Have a parent initial the column and bring back this sheet every day in your homework folder. 

Students are required to read 20 minutes a day. Please record reading time on the attached document. It needs to handed in every Friday. Reading Log

Word Sort Groups
Group 1 – Josie, Bobbie, Ashlynn, Lorelei, Noah
Group 2 – Brody, Jesse, Hunter, Markus, Leonardo
Group 3 – Joe, James, Ellie, Taylor, Ayleen
Group 4 – Brogan, Landon, Kyle, Reese, Caden

Monday
Read for 20 minutes and record on reading log
SORT – ABC Sort – Have your child explain the sort rule to you and put their words in alphabetical order.
MATH – Chapter 14.2 – All

SORT – Speed Sort

Wednesday
Read for 20 minutes and record on reading log
Sort – SORT- No Peeking Sort  – Read the sort words to your child aloud (without showing them) and have them write them under the correct rule column with the correct spelling.
Math – Chapter 14.4 – All
Chapter 14.4 Key

Thursday
Read for 20 minutes and record on reading log
SORT – Glue Sort – Glue down the rules and the sorts that follow those rule
MATH –Chapter 14.5 – All

Homework for tonight

On the homework for tonight it asks for students to list if the angle is greater than or less than a right angle.  Please do not have your student do this.  Instead have them list whether the angle is a right angle or not a right angle.

Free Dress Down Day and Homework for Tonight!

Dear Parents,
I am sending tonight’s homework with the students, so please look for it.  Do not do the homework that is listed on the homework organizer for tonight.  Here is a clock that the students can cut out and use to help them with elapsed time if they would like.  They do not need to use it and hand it in to me.  This is just to help them at home.
Clock for student use if needed!

The third grade has earned a free dress down day for bringing in the most box tops.  We well have our free dress down day tomorrow, Friday the 10th.  Please keep sending in box tops and coke rewards! We really want to win the pizza party at the end of the year!
