2nd week

Hello Parents,
I just wanted to remind you that homework is due tomorrow.  Please make sure that you tuck the reading log (the coral colored  paper) in the backpack.  Some of the students have already turned in their all about me sheets.  Thank you for doing that.  If they have not already done that then please include that along with their reading log sheet.  They will get a new homework packet tomorrow that will be for the next week.  It will be due next Friday.  I hope that you all have received the emails regarding the gray pullovers.  Here is the latest one:

Notification from: Quest Academy

Quest Families,

Tomorrow is the last day to let us know if you want to exchange your gray quarter-zip pullover for a red one (elementary) or a blue one (jr. high). Please only fill out this form if you have NOT done so previously (click here). Thanks.

Quest Administration

If you have any questions about the jackets that can or cannot be worn inside the classroom you are welcome to call the office.

The students are doing a great job on learning the expectations and routines of the classroom and school.  Please remember that if you send a water bottle send a small one.  Large water bottles make for full bladders that cannot easily make it til the next bathroom break.  Also please remember that we are trying to adjust to our new schedule and extra rest and good nutrition are really helpful at this time.  Thank you for the wonderful help that has been given from all of our volunteers.  It has really been great.

Cookie and Beef Jerky sales are going on until September 10th so please remember to take them to work or to neighbors and friends to get as many sales as we can.  We have set a school fundraising goal of $40,000 to directly benefit our students.  We want to prove that Quest is the Best!

Remember no school on Monday as Labor Day is observed.  Have a safe holiday and we will see you back on Tuesday.

Fabulous First Day in First Grade

The first day of first grade is always cause for celebration, but this year it was especially enjoyable to watch this wonderful class come in and take ownership of their classroom.  Today we wrote classroom rules, talked about what great students do, and talked about my job as their teacher.  One thing is clear…these students are well prepared for a great year.  Hats off to you as parents.  It is a hard transition to first grade and you may hear your first grader saying that it is hard and the day is long.  They are right!  All of that in consideration, we have had some great times already; times with them giggling, writing, reading, and thinking.  All of these make me a happy first grade teacher.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a wonderful start.
