Welcome to Wacky Wednesday where we will attempt to do things differently.  It is our first day of E-Learning.  Some of the videos have posted just fine and other videos have not posted well.  I do not know all the reasons why, but I will continue working on them.  Do the activities in order and I will see you at 10:00 am for our live session.
1. 10:00 am:
Go to meet.google.com 
(make sure you are logged into your quest academy
google account- This will be your student’s firstname.lastname@qackids.org and their normal password)
Click on “Join or Start a Meeting”
Type “MrsG” for our meeting code.
Make sure to find the picture of a microphone and click to TURN OFF before clicking “Join Now”
Click “Join Now”
You will be able to see Mrs. Gieseke and the rest of our class!
If you are unable to join at 10:00, watch our recorded session on the blog.

This is one of the hardest programs to access from home.  Here is a great video to show you the exact steps.  If you still have problems after watching and following these steps please email me.

Here is a video on how to access Typer Island.  This is a program that the students use in computers and really helps them to get familiar with the keyboard which will especially be helpful as we rely on those skills in E-Learning.

Introduction to E-Learning

Hello Parents,

By now you have heard Governor Herbert’s and our State Superintendent’s requirement for all schools to teach online for the next two weeks.  Your student will need access to the internet and an electronic device with a web cam.  Mrs. Gieseke and all other Quest teachers will be teaching via video conference.  Your student will need a forward facing camera to interact with our online classes.  If you do not have a device with a webcam, Quest is happy to loan you a Google ChromeBook for the next two weeks.  You may check-out a ChromeBook when you pick up your student’s schoolwork. 

Stay tuned for more information.  We will be updating you as we get more information available to us.  We greatly appreciate our families being so flexible at this time.  We know this creates a hardship for parents – thank you for all you do.  You are amazing!

This week we finished our class book.  We will be sending out our class book order soon.  Your student received an order form this week.  You can order with that or go directly online and order (see the order form pictured).  The class books are really fun to have for years to come.  If you have any questions feel free to email me.  This is a class book and will have all the students in the class in one book.

On our blog please notice that there is a place for Extra Practice and Review.  This area has Strategy math sheets that you can print off for the students to practice their time math facts.  Several of the students have been asking if they could practice these at home so that they can get faster at them.  They want to pass them all off so that they can come to a party lunch with me.  Please help your student to learn these as they have time.  Thank you for your help.  If you have any questions please contact me.  These are an optional activity and should only be done if they student wants to do them.
