The Week of December 2nd

December 2, 2024

This week we will be going over:
ELA: Author’s Purpose – I can identify the author’s purpose with two or more key details.
Math: 3-Digit Numbers and Place Value – I am learning how the digits of a three-digit number represent the amounts of hundreds, tens, and ones.
Phonics: Long I – I can read and spell words with the long i sounds (i, i_e, ie, _y, igh).
Sight Words: We are on week 3.2. You may make flashcards of the sight words and have your student read and spell each word. For a challenge, have your students write the sight words in sentences or a story.

What is coming home this week?
There is a new reading and sight words tracker coming home. It is on a dark green paper. Please ensure your child is reading and practicing their sight words!

Their 1st math book is coming home. If your child is involved in tutoring or needs extra practice with those concepts, please use the extra pages we did not get to in the book for help!

We are celebrating:
– Drew’s Star Student Week.
– Autumn’s Birthday
– Maysen’s Half Birthday

Reminders:
– Our library day is on Mondays- please make sure your student’s library book comes back with them after the weekend. Please bring them back tomorrow if your child forgot them today.
