Good Morning Parents,

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, here are a couple house keeping things to go over:

Please fill out this form indicating whether or not you give permission for your child to accept treats from other students on Valentine’s Day: https://forms.gle/ewdv9UR7biAVs5TP7

If you do not fill this out, I will assume that your student does not have permission to participate in the treat exchange and I will have an alternate activity. These treats will not be consumed in class, they will be sent home at the end of the day.

For a treat box, have it big enough to fit on their desk and to hold up to 27 items varying in size. Make sure the opening is 3×5 or 3×6 inches to fit treats through. That morning, your students are welcome to drop off their box in the classroom so they are not carrying it around outside. Please only bring them the day of, not the day before.

Please only address the treats as who they are from. This will allow the exchange to go smooth and quick.

If you are wanting to volunteer for our Valentine’s Party, it is from 12:00-1:00. I am needing 6 volunteers with these activities:
– Game
– Game
– Game/Craft
– Craft

Please email me stating you are wanting to volunteer. It will be a first come, first serve basis.

Thank you!
Mrs. McLaughlin

We have an exciting project coming up in science! Each student will create an animal diorama using a shoebox or a box no larger than a small laptop. Your child has already selected their animal and started to do some research. Please help them gather supplies to bring to school on Wednesday, November 13. We will work on the dioramas on Thursday & Friday of that week. The students will then display them the next week, on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 2:20-3:00. Parents are welcome to attend this event.

We will like some help on that Thursday, November 14th from 2:20-3:00 and Friday, November 15th from 12:20-1:00 to assist with putting together dioramas. If you can volunteer during this time please email me.

Thank you for your cooperation in making this a fun and educational experience for our students!

Supplies: (Bring Wed., Nov. 13)

  • Shoe box or smaller box
  • Plastic animal (that they researched)
  • Rocks, sticks, misc. decorations for the habitat

(Any supplies provided will be hot glued in, please don’t send valuable items)

Here are some examples of what the finished product will look like.
