A few notes about sorts:
1- Focus on the pattern or the type of sort.  (Listed above in
parenthesis)
2- Right now as we begin, you may choose to have your student write a few words for each header instead of the all the words.  As they become more familiar with sorting and writing you will increase your expectations about how many words they are to write.  (For Monday and Wednesday sorting)
3- Remember to record their sort times for Tuesday’s speed sort.  Times are necessary to receive credit for that day.
4-**Note: Many cards are pictures, please encourage your child to spell as much of the word as they can.  Pictures are used so the students will listen to the letter sounds rather than just look for the letter that matches their header.**
