Halloween Party Permission Form
Our Kindergarten Halloween Party will be Friday, October 30 following the Halloween Parade. Please complete the online permission form: Halloween Permission Form
To review the information regarding the school parade click here: Quest Halloween Parade
E-learner students are welcome to dress up as well. So that the ENTIRE school can see our e-learners in their costumes, we ask parents to take pictures of their children and send them to Angelee Spader (aspader@questac.org) no later than Thursday, Oct. 29th. We will make a video compilation of these pictures and share it with all our students.
We will be holding three holiday parties this year; Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s. We are requesting a $3.00 donation for each party to help with the associated costs. If possible, please donate $9.00 for all holiday parties at this time. If you prefer you may donate $3.00 now and pay the remaining amount later. Thank you for your generous donations.
Costume Guidelines:
Please note that costumes should be modest and without blood or gore. Students may paint their faces or wear masks. Anything that depicts violence is banned (knives, guns, swords, spears, etc.). Just to reiterate, no blood, either depicted on the costume or in makeup, is allowed.
Meet the Monsters
We are excited about the support we are receiving for our school fundraiser. We had several students receive their first monsters on Tuesday. Monsters can be claimed each Tuesday and Thursday morning in front of the Q1 library. We have discovered that the chains are not very durable, so we are asking the kids to put the monsters IN their backpacks. Thank you for your support. Keep up the great work!

First Weeks of Kindergarten
Our first weeks of Kindergarten have been full of fun and learning. We hope you enjoy this glimpse into our first weeks of school: Ms. Ronda’s Kindergarteners
Raz Kids and more
Today we introduced the students to RazKids and demonstrated how to use the program. We strongly encourage reading at home, RazKids is one tool you can use.
Although we do not assign homework, I’m often asked for learning activities that families can choose do with their Kindergartener. The following are ideas, not requirements. Feel free to choose activities that are meaningful to your child.
For math, students can access the “Learning Games” on iReady. These math games help build math fluency (look for the fish on the bottom bar of the iReady Math page).
Weekly math packets are another way to practice the math skills we are learning in class. These packets can be found each Wednesday in the take-home folders.
Practicing handwriting (letters and numbers) and reading sight words (the sight word mat choice page has some fun ideas) are a few more additional learning activities you can do at home.
Reading at home
Your child will have home access to a Raz-Kids account this school year.
Raz-Kids is an online leveled-reading program. Students can listen to books, read books, record themselves reading the books, take short quizzes to check for comprehension, and personalize their avatar and rocket in the Star Zone.
We will use student data from our Kindergarten entry assessments to determine reading level. Please note that these levels are adjustable. Let us know if you feel the level is too difficult or too easy. There will be an adjustment period as we determine the right fit for each child.
