Show and Teach

During the week of May 11-15, we will have whole group Zoom sessions everyday 10-10:30am on Ms. Ronda’s zoom room.  (No small group zooms this week)

Students will have the opportunity to “Show and Teach”. Each child will be assigned a day to show something via Zoom and teach (or tell) us about it. For example, they could teach us about somersaults, tell us how to do a somersault, and then show us their best somersault. Or they could tell us how they care for a family pet and show us the pet. Or they might choose to show a favorite toy, tell us why they like, where they got it, share why it is special. Or they could sing a song, play a musical number, dance, read a book, etc.

This is their chance to shine and share a little bit about things that are special to them. It can take one minute or up to 5 minutes. We will have 5-6 presenters each day. We encourage you to have your child practice their presentation prior to the live session.

Here is the current schedule, please let me know if you need to change days:

Week of May 4-8

This week, May 4-8, will be our kindergarten assessment week.  Each child will attend (via Zoom) a 30 minute appointment. This assessment will provide us data on student growth and mastery for the school year in reading and math.  This assessment is a Quest Kindergarten assessment, NOT a state or national test.

Students will need their ten frames white board, dry erase marker and eraser, and 9 math counters.

Kindergarten students will not have regular lessons this week. If you choose, they may access iReady and Raz Kids. Students will be marked present for the week by attending their scheduled assessment appointment.

Quest Academy Parade

IMG_3367 3We are beyond excited for our Quest Academy Parade on Monday, May 4th 1:30-2:30pm. We hope to see all of you there 🙂

In order to maintain social distancing standards, our educators will be spaced along the school—elementary teachers will be along the curb in the front of Q1, and jr. high teachers will be along the carpool lane in the back of the school. If you have students in both the elementary and the jr. high, feel free to make two trips around.

We ask that students with last names beginning with letters A to M come between 1:30pm and 2:00pm, while those with last names beginning with letters N to Z come between 2:00pm and 2:30pm.

To ensure social distancing standards are followed, please don’t exit your vehicles. Do, however, feel free to honk and cheer.
