Valentine’s Day will be coming up quickly. Students will be allowed to bring a decorated Valentine’s box or envelope from home and Valentine’s to share with each other. We have 26 students in our class. Students will be allowed to bring store-bought CANDY Valentines in addition to prizes! We do have students in our class who have allergies to gluten, so please look for GLUTEN-FREE candy. Please fill out this form allowing your child to participate in the Valentine’s Party. This will be held during the last 30 minutes of class.
Our Student Council will be selling Friend-Grams can be purchased Feb. 5-9th starting at 7:45 in the lobbies of both Q1 and Q2. The Friend-Grams will be $.25 each. This is a fun way for students to share a message of friendship with a classmate or staff member. Each Friend-Gram will have a small treat attached and delivered to classrooms on Wednesday, February 14.
New Novel Study Book!

Indian in the Cupboard is a fun book for the students to read. This book will need to be returned on February 23,2024. This is the last Friday of the month. If your child is having a hard time reading this book, have them try doing a read-aloud and follow along with the reader. You can usually find a read-aloud book on YouTube. Please make sure your child is following along in their book. If your student has the book, “Tales of Fourth-Grade Nothing”- have them return it to class A.S.A.P. Another class is waiting to read this book.

Yearbook Cover Competition:

The time has come for us to select a yearbook cover for our 2023-24 elementary yearbook. We will be holding a Yearbook Cover Contest to select two students whose artwork will be featured on the front and back cover of the yearbook. This year, students can choose to do artwork that is created digitally or hand-drawn. Each entry must meet the following criteria:
We will be looking for entries that represent how we can BE GREAT at Quest.
Entries are due by Friday, January 5, at 8:30 am.
List of digital art programs suitable for children: Adobe Fresco, Gimp, Krita, Artweaver Free, ArtRange, Sketchpad, Astropad Studio, Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, Vectr, FireAlpaca, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Paint, Procreate, Tux Paint, Drawing for Children.

I will be sending the book “How to Eat Fried Worms” home on Nov. 17th so students can start reading it over Thanksgiving break. The book will need to be returned, on Dec. 15th.
