**Grinch Party help: We will not need help on the day of the party, but it would be greatly appreciated if any parents are willing to make green sugar popcorn for the party. I need enough to fill a small brown bag for each student. Please let me know if you can help out with this.
**White Elephant Gifts: Please do not spend a lot of money on your gift! It can be a gently used item from your house, a toy you don’t play with anymore, or a Dollar Store gift, just something that your child would appreciate receiving. Bring it wrapped and unmarked on or before Friday. Let me know if you need me to provide a gift for your child.
Math in Class
We will use place value to multiply. Please take a look at the Family Letter your child will be bringing home on Monday. We will most likely be taking the test this Thursday.
Language Arts in Class
We are still working on main idea using key details. *Please have your child continue reading over the break as much as possible. Ask them what they think the main idea is of the book(s) they are reading. Have them give you details and retell the story.
We will be testing their reading skills the week after we come back from break!
Homework:
Please read 20 minutes every night and keep track of your minutes on our reading log. Make sure that your child is doing REFLEX for math and getting the green light AT LEAST 3 times during the week. As soon as your child masters their addition and subtraction facts they will be able to start on multiplication! If students do not complete RELEX at home they will complete it during recess time.
