Next week’s ABC countdown:
Monday is G for game day. The students may bring a board or electronic game that they already know how to play. Please, no bae blades!!
Tuesday is H for Hat Day. They may wear a hat.
Wednesday is I for Invention Day. They can draw up plans for a new invention.
Thursday is J for Jump Rope Day. We will be having jump rope activities.
Friday is K for Kickball Day. We will have kickball tournaments with the other second grade classes.
Because of our activities, our spelling test will be on a day that is available. This is the last ‘official’ group of words so they may not be taking the test until next Friday or even Monday. Please continue to go over their words nightly.

Monday is baby picture day. Please send a picture of your second grader when they were a baby. 
We will be having Scales N Tales come on Tuesday for Critter Day.
Wednesday is Dancing Day. We will be dancing throughout the day.
Thursday is Experiment Day so we will be doing some fun experiments.
Friday is Fun in the Sun. We will have some lesson time outside in the sun.

Tomorrow is spring pictures and a free dress down day!

This Friday is the beginning of our ABC countdown. On Friday we will be starting with A for Art Day. Monday April 23rd is B for Baby Picture Day. Please send a baby picture of your second grader so that we can share our pictures.
On Tuesday for C we will have Critter Day. We will be having Scales N Tails come for a fun-filled at school field trip day. We will be making dirt cups with pudding and molding animals with Rice Krispy treats. I have signed permission for these items that you signed on your child’s disclosure at the beginning of the year. If this has changed from what you previously signed, please let me know.
We will also be finishing our rock unit at the end of the month. Some time in the next two weeks we will be having the rock unit treats. We will be digging for chocolate chips in cookies, seeing how layers work by cutting open Snickers bars and seeing how rocks can explode and change by eating Pop Rocks. If any of the previous permission, for your child to try these items, has changed, please let me know.

Hello Parents!,
We are required to participate in 2 service projects each school year. For the spring, we have decided to write letters and send a care package to a group of Airmen at Shepherd Air Base in Wichita Falls, Texas.
We will have the students write letters to the Service Men and we are asking that you send treats and/or word search or crossword type books. Please send these to school by Wednesday, April 18th so that I can send them on Friday the 20th. Anything would be appreciated! It would also be fun if your child has some kind of fun craft that they like to make at home, to send.
This is a requirement for our STEM endorsement so we really appreciate any and all help that we can get!
