Happy Monday!,
For word study this week please have your child go to spelling city to study words. We will not be spending lists home this week. Remind them that they log on to spelling city (it’s on the school site) the same way they sign in to the school computers.
Please read like crazy with your child for the next few weeks. We will be doing timed readings in two weeks.
I still need 7 parents to go to the blog entry on 4/10 to give permission for our Scales N Tails activities on 4/25!
Have a great week!,

Hello!,We are having an at school field trip on Tuesday, April 25th. We will be having Scales N Tails bring birds and reptiles for the children to learn about and see. We will have a fun day of animal observations, picnic lunch and we will be making animals out of Rice Krispie treats and dirt cups to show the layers for worms. We will be eating these items after we have made them. This activity was not included on the disclosure that you already signed. Therefore, I need signatures for your child to be allowed to participate. Please click on the link below to sign for your child to be included.

Welcome Back!,
Your student will bring his/her words home with them.
We are working on measurement the nest couple weeks for math. Please have your child measure items around the house with a ruler and/or yardstick. They will be learning, centimeters, inches and yards.
On Thursday of this week we will be having a dollar dress down as a fund raiser for a family whose house burned down during spring break. The son is a student here at school so any donation is greatly appreciated!
Also, it is our school Gala on Monday, April 24th. If you would like tickets or donate an auction item, you can get tickets and/or drop items off at the office.
Have a great week!

Hello,
I hope everyone has been having a fantastic spring break!
Here’s some information:
Detailed information is not required on dioramas! Just a few facts about your child’s animal is great! We will be sharing them with the rest of the school and any parents/grandparents that would like to come on Thursday, April 13th from 9:30 to 10:30 in our classrooms.
Christmas Box donations can also include gift cards. They love gift cards to Walmart so that they can purchase needed items as well as to take children shopping for things they may need.
We just wanted to remind everyone that students have Spring pictures on Monday. Though students should still follow dress down guidelines on Monday, they are welcome to wear non-uniform attire for their pictures. Everyone will have their picture taken and then Bell Photography will send picture packages home shortly after. If you do not wish to purchase the packet, just send it back to school. Thanks for all you do.
Have a fabulous weekend!
Susan Lindsey
Second grade has chosen The Christmas Box House as our spring service project. They are in need of spring and summer clothing for ages infant to 18 year old, boys and girls, summer toys as well as hygiene items for teenage children. Please help us out by donating any possible items. No used clothes, please.
We will be collecting items until Monday, May 1st. You can get more information about The Christmas Box House by going to www.thechristmasboxhouse.org.
Let me know if you have any questions.
