Field Trip to Black Island Farm
We will be going on a field trip to Black Island Farm, in Syracuse, on Friday, September 23rd. The attached form will need to be filled in and completed by Friday, September 16th.
If your child will need a school prepared lunch, please click on “yes” in the lunch question. If your child will be bringing a sack lunch, there will be no way to heat items so please prepare something that will not require heating.
We will leave the school promptly at 9:30 a.m. so please ensure that your child is to school on time that day. We will return to the school at approximately 1:00.
Appropriate shoes will need to be worn for walking through a farm.
We are asking for a $5 donation for each child to help cover the cost. Transportation is very expensive and we would love to be able to attend more field trips this each year.
We are approved for 5 parents from our class to participate in the wagon ride. The first 5 parents who respond will be ensured a spot on the wagon. Others will be allowed, according to room available.
Parents attending will need to pay at the school office, $3.50 by the 16th, as well as the donation. Those who attend and do not pay at the office, will need to wait in line, at the farm, to pay.
I will send out notification to those who are ensured a spot on the wagon.
Please- no siblings!!

End of Year!!
Happy Friday!,
Here are a few things to know for next week:
Please send backpacks with your child for sure on Tuesday and Wednesday so that we can send items home that will no longer be needed!
Friday is field day. All students will need a sack lunch! Second grade will be wearing purple shirts for field day activity. If your second grader has a purple shirt, please send him/her in it on Friday. You do not need to go out and buy one for this day. It is free dress down but clothing needs to be school appropriate.
Have a fabulous weekend!

Last Word Study
Happy Friday!,
I can’t believe that we are at the end of the school year! I am in a little bit of a panic knowing that these awesome kids are going to be leaving me! I have grown to love each and every one of your children!
The entire class will be using this word list. I feel they need a little more work on contractions, so hopefully some of this lesson will stick. This will be our last word study list for the year:
