Field Trip to Black Island Farm

We will be going on a field trip to Black Island Farm, in Syracuse, on Friday, September 23rd. The attached form will need to be filled in and completed by Friday, September 16th.
If your child will need a school prepared lunch, please click on “yes” in the lunch question. If your child will be bringing a sack lunch, there will be no way to heat items so please prepare something that will not require heating.
We will leave the school promptly at 9:30 a.m. so please ensure that your child is to school on time that day. We will return to the school at approximately 1:00.
Appropriate shoes will need to be worn for walking through a farm.
We are asking for a $5 donation for each child to help cover the cost. Transportation is very expensive and we would love to be able to attend more field trips this each year.
We are approved for 5 parents from our class to participate in the wagon ride. The first 5 parents who respond will be ensured a spot on the wagon. Others will be allowed, according to room available.
Parents attending will need to pay at the school office, $3.50 by the 16th, as well as the donation. Those who attend and do not pay at the office, will need to wait in line, at the farm, to pay.
I will send out notification to those who are ensured a spot on the wagon.
Please- no siblings!!

Dear Parents,
I give you back your child, the same child you confidently entrusted to my care last fall. I give him back pounds heavier, inches taller, months wiser, more responsible, and more mature than he was then. Although he would have attained his growth in spite of me, it has been my pleasure and privilege to watch his personality unfold day by day. I give him back reluctantly, for having spent nine months together in the narrow confines of a crowded classroom, we have grown close, have become a part of each other, and we shall always retain a little of each other.

Ten years from now if we meet on the street, your child and I, a light will shine to our eyes, a smile to our faces, and we shall feel the bond of understanding once more, this bond we feel today.

We have lived, loved, laughed, played, studied, learned, and enriched our lives together this year. I wish it could go on indefinitely, but give him back I must. Take care of him, for he is precious.

Remember that I shall always be interested in your child and his destiny, wherever he goes, whatever he does, whoever he becomes. His joys and sorrows I’ll always be happy to share.

                                                                         Love,

                                                                         Susan Lindsey

Last Word Study

Happy Friday!,
I can’t believe that we are at the end of the school year! I am in a little bit of a panic knowing that these awesome kids are going to be leaving me! I have grown to love each and every one of your children!

The entire class will be using this word list. I feel they need a little more work on contractions, so hopefully some of this lesson will stick. This will be our last word study list for the year:
