Mrs. Lindsey's Class

We are excited to announce Q2s rendition of “Pirated”. Our students will be performing this Friday and Saturday at 7:00pm at Syracuse Arts Academy (2893 W 1700 S, Syracuse). Tickets can be purchased from our website.  They are $5 per person or $20 for a family of five.

Yearbooks are also on sale on our website. They can be purchased until March 29^th, and are $17 for the elementary and $20 for the jr. high.

In order to help our Rube Goldberg team on their way to Nationals, we are having an optional dollar dress down this Friday. We are also having a clothing drive. All funds will go towards helping our team travel to Indiana.

Next week for Dr. Seuss Day, on Friday, the students may choose one of the following:
1) Show everyone a Thing or Two. Grab a friend and dress as Thing 1 and Thing 2

2)Green eggs and ham anyone? Wear a green shirt, pants, socks or accessories to school

3) How do those Who’s do it? Crazy Who Hair

*All clothing must meet school dress code standards. Students who do not choose to participate in a clothing theme will still need to wear a school uniform 

We had a fun Valentine’s Party! Thanks to the amazing parents and grandparents who were able to help!

Friend “Ram” Grams will be on sale Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week before and after school for 25 cents each. Kindergarten-4th grade Ram Grams will be sold in the Q1 building, and 5th grade-junior high Ram Grams will be sold in Q2. Ram Grams will be delivered on Thursday morning to the students’ homerooms or first period class, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Our class party will be 1:45 to 2:50 on Thursday, February 14th. Thanks to those who have responded and will be helping with that!
We have 25 students in our class. Please do not put individual names on Valentines being handed out but do have your child sign his/her name on them. We are making our Valentine bags here at school so please do not send a box from home.

Hello!,
This week we are talking about rocks in science. We will be mining for minerals (chocolate chips), seeing how the earth is layered (like Snickers) and seeing how pressure and heat affect rocks (Pop Rocks). Permission for these activities was included in the class disclosure that you signed at the beginning of the school year. I do have students who cannot have peanuts and I will talk to those parents at conferences. We will be doing these activities on Thursday. If permission has changed, please let me know.
We will have our class Valentine party on Thursday, Feb. 14th from 1:45 til 2:50. Please let me know if you are available to help out. We will be decorating bags here at school so please do not send a box with your child.

We will exchange Valentines on the 14th. Please do not include food items in Valentines. We will be decorating cookies as one of our stations for the party.

Hello!,
We are learning  about mapping right now in Social Studies. We are completing an activity with our addresses. For this reason, will you please send a current address to me or with your child  on Monday so that they can participate with the correct address. This being said, please make sure that we have your child’s correct information on our school Aspire.
Parent conferences are being moved to Jan. 29 and 31. I will be heading out of town on the 31st so I will be having my conferences on the 29th and 30th. I would really love to meet with each one of you! Please watch for my sign up link so that you can get scheduled.

I wanted to share some of our Christmas pictures with you! This is such a fun and amazing class! I am so grateful to spend time with them and to be their teacher!
I would like to thank Mr. Valquinto for sharing his experiences and Christmas traditions in Argentina with us.
I would also like to thank the amazing parents that helped with our Christmas Party. Great thanks to Ms. Davidson, Ms. Hackett, Ms. Adams, Ms. Berger, Ms. Westmoreland and Mr. Erhart! The kids seemed to have a fantastic time.
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and I will see you all on January 2nd.

Some things to know about this week:
We will be doing some testing on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings so please try to have your child to school on time.

Wednesday is pajama day! The lunch staff is planning a picnic in pajamas. Since the students will be comfy, we will have our class Christmas movie on Wednesday afternoon. The kids will get popcorn and watch Santa Paws 2.

Friday is a free dress down day and our class party. We will have a school sing a long from 9:00 to 9:45ish and then we will have our class party from 10:00 to 11:00. Any help is welcome and appreciated.
