March is our ANIMAL UNIT! This means the students will be doing loads of fun educational activities on animals. 1. Dioramas: I will be sending home on Monday their rubrics for the Dioramas. Here is a link to view it online as well. Diorama Project and Grading Rubric Each student is assigned an animal and it will be on the rubric I send home. ** Please sign the bottom and return so that I know you are aware of it. Projects will be due on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. **We will have a open house on that day from 9:30-10:30 to show off their dioramas.
2. Research project We will be doing research in class and creating a google slide. This will all be done in class! We will have the students present them in April and as we get closer I will inform you of the date and time your student will present their projects.
We are going to work on a short biography of a family member. For tonight, I would like students to interview someone! Share a short story with your student that they could write about. We will be starting writing these tomorrow! For example: I could have my grandpa tell me about the time he learned how to ride a bike! Have the student record notes from the story. Please don’t do this for them, let them write it! 🙂
Parents! I have to have the book orders sent in March. Please bring your forms in asap. Even if you are not purchasing, I need all forms. Otherwise I can’t publish your child’s work in the book.
