Hi, I am Katelynn! My favorite part of being Star Student was… showing the class my favorite stuff,like my book and reading it. It is called “there was an old lady who swallowed some leaves”. I liked showing my poster, and showing my pictures on my poster.
The halloween Party will have an activity where the students are decorating sugar cookies. Please let me know if you have concerns about your child participating in this activity.
THURSDAY the 29th is Parent Teacher Conferences. I will be open from 3:30-5:30pm. I want to give parents a chance to pick a time they would like to come. I’ll schedule you in 15 minute sections so times will go as follows 3:30 3:45 4:00 4:15 4:30 4:45 5:00 5:15

I have retested all students, and there will be new WTW groups starting next week! I am so proud of your students and their growth! I have been retesting and testing them in different areas this last week and I am seeing lots of growth in each child in all areas! I am so proud to be their teacher! 🙂 I have the best students!
Due to there being no school on friday, we will be taking our WTW test on thursday. Therefore, students will only need to read on Thursday. There will be no need to submit time. Just plan on reading at least 20 minutes Thursday night.
Wednesday October 21st, we are going to talk about ancestors. I would like the kids to talk to their parents about their ancestors and where they came from and where they are now. For example, Mrs. Woodrow’s Dad’s side of the family is from Italy. We still have family in Italy, but all of my close relatives live in the United States. We have Italian family members in Oregon, Utah, and Washington.
*Have students bring a paper with the names of the countries their ancestors came from and where they are now. We will look up on a map where those countries are and explore their heritage.
This will be fun! I can’t wait to hear about your students ancestors.
Students are currently earning marbles to have this party! I have faith the students will succeed! This years party will be a rotation style with the other 2nd grade classes. The party will be held from 12-1pm on October 30th. Our class will be hosting a BINGO game. I have one volunteer to help. I would love to have some others to assist. We could also use some donated non-food PRIZES. Dollar store prizes would be awesome, just something small to give to students who get BINGO! *Email me if you can participate! Send donated items with students and I will collect. Thank you!
