I want to apologize for not posting more photos and video on here! With Class Dojo, I post way more of those things on there! So if your feeling like you don’t know what we are doing refer to class dojo for videos and photos! Here are just a few fun things the last couple months!

MONEY UNIT

Penny-Nickel-Dime-Quarter-Presidents-on-US-Coins-56d8e0373df78c5ba023fdd2
Parents and students!

We are doing our money unit for the next couple weeks! Keep this in mind as your buying things with cash, let your student count it out and help pay. If you have a change jar, dump some of it out and have your student count and sort the coins. This will help them remember the look and value of the coins.

Thanks!!

STEM CLUB

We are going to host another STEM club! If you would like to be apart of it, it is a first come first serve basis. If your child has already done STEM club this year, they may not do it again.
The first 20 students who bring a signed permission form and donation to the office will be the first chosen for the STEM club.
For more details on the dates of STEM club, please refer to the permission form HERE.

Grades Posted!

Parents,
     Grades are finalized and posted on Aspire. You are welcome to log in and view your child’s grades. I also will be sending home a copy of their dojo points from just term 2. I have written some notes as I was doing grades that may be confusing! So I just want to clarify here what those marks mean!

H= Honors
S= Satisfactory
N= Needs improvement
U= Unsatisfactory

* Everyone starts at Satisfactory, but if they show extra in a letter, then they may get honors.
There If it says “H on all” that means honors on all the PRIDE citizenship letters.
P= personal responsibility: such as tardies or absences
R= Respect
I= Integrity
D=Disipline
E= Engagement
If your still confused you can look at aspires scores or contact me for more information.

STEM Project

We are doing a fun Pirate STEM project this month. Next week on Thursday we will need some cardboard to create our shovels.

Cardboard can include:
cereal boxes
small and large boxes.
Please flatten them before bringing them in.
We also will be using duck tape, I do have some, but some students mentioned they have a fun color they would want to bring. That is fine with me as long as its okay with you.

Thank you!

Note from administration

We are hoping to get some help with an issue we are having at the school regarding missing name badges. As stated in our Handbook, “Everyone is required to wear their name badge to attend class (the name badge must be that of the current school year). Please reinforce having name badges as they create a safer environment at the school. To replace a lost name badge, your child will need to pay $5.00 for a new one. A student without a name badge will be referred to the office to call home. Parents/Guardians will be expected to bring their child’s name badge or pay $5.00 for a replacement. Only then will students be allowed to return to class.” Elementary students are to leave their name badges in their classrooms at the end of the day. Jr. High students are encouraged to leave their name badges in their lockers before leaving. To ensure your child receives a full day’s worth of learning in the classroom, please make sure their name badge is left at school and returned the following day if accidentally taken home. Please note, that you have this week as a grace period to either find your child’s lost name badge or replace it for $5.00. Starting Tuesday, January 16 (one week from today), students who do not have name badges will not be attending class until a new one is purchased or their old one is returned. If parents are working when their children call, they are more than welcome to either pay for a badge using a credit card over the phone or to pay online.
