We have some fun Holiday activities planned! In December, we are going to learn about Holiday traditions around the world. If any of you have some fun information or games on different Holiday traditions from another country, we’d love for you to come share! If you have something in mind, please email me and let me know!

We will be learning to measure, mix and create! Mrs. Lindsey and Mrs. Cashin are excited to teach you about cooking, measuring and cleaning up! We are offering a 6-week course, on Thursdays after school. If it is successful, we hope to offer additional cooking classes in the future.  

The first 3 students from each 2nd grade class will be admitted according to the following criteria.

• turn in the contract/permission slip signed by both the student and the parent

• an attached receipt for $10 food donation (paid to the office) 

• Follow all the rules on the Contract

2nd Grade After School Cooking Club[3]

Today in class we counted up our supplies for the dog chew toys we will be making for a local animal shelter! 
We found that we had:
30 water bottles
14 (9X12) fleece 
11 (3X15) strips of fleece
229 rubber bands 
5 tennis balls
We found that we could only make 17 toys with those supplies and have lots of left over that couldn’t be used. 
According to our calculations, (so that we can use up all the supplies)
We need at least:
16 more (9X12) fleece
1 more (3X15) strip of fleece
5 more socks

This will use the supplies we have, with some left over rubber bands of course. 
We would love to make more of the tug ropes, so if you could also think about bringing:
Old shirts and fleece for strips! 
*note: we will use 3 strips to make one tug rope chew toy.
