Summer Studies!

Dear future 3rd graders and Parents,

SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE! Yay for Summer!
BUT one of the biggest issues with Summer break is retention! Students always forget things over the summer! I always have parents that ask for ways to help their students learning!

Here is some options or things to work on!
1. ALWAYS READ!
– If I could choose anything for you to work on all summer it would be reading! Reading skills seem to depreciate over the summer and this is a life long skill!
– Go to your local library and check out some of these books:
   Junie B. Jones Series
   Magic Tree House Series
  The School is Alive Series
   Judy Moody or Stink Series
   My Weirdest School series
Geronimo Stilton or Thea Stilton Series

2. Prodigy!
– This program will contue to challenge your kids at their level! I am going to set some standards over the summer for them to work on, but I am also going to set them to 3rd grade. That way the questions will either be review from difficult concepts this year, or new concepts for next year!
** PLUS IT IS SO FUN! Summer should be fun!

3. Reflex or Print off math sheets at math-drills.com
– The goal for a second grader is to be able to do about 24 mixed problems to 9 in addition or subtraction in a minute. This is an excellent skill to continue working on! Also in 3rd grade they begin multiplication memorization skills! So math-drills.com is a great place to find some sheets to practice those times tables.

If you need additional resources, please let me know! I can see what I can do! 🙂 Most importantly! Have fun this summer and make lots of memories!
I love you all and wish you the best in your future endeavors! Don’t be shy and come visit me next year too!
