Reflex and Readworks homework is now OPTIONAL. Students are still asked to read 20 minutes every day.

Reading 20 minutes a day with your child is so important.  Have them read aloud to you and ask them questions about what they are reading. We hope they learn to love reading every day!.

1. Reflex to a “Green Light” four times this week (Mon, Tues., Wed, Thur.). if they want to review math facts at home for our Reflex challenge on Friday.

2. Read for 20 minutes every day this week.

3. Readworks article – How glaciers change the world.

Read for 20 minutes out loud to a grown up. Have the person you were reading with ask you some questions about your book.

Picture day is this THURSDAY. Students should come in uniforms since this is the picture that will be on their badge. Envelopes have been sent home with information regarding buying options.

We are taking our first field trip on September 17th to This is the Place. We are sadly limited on the number of parents we can take on the trip-only 2 for our room. Please indicate on the form if you are interested in attending the field trip. I will have a random drawing and let the two lucky parents know who they are. I will draw the names out on Monday.
(Please note: NO SIBLINGS are allowed to attend by request of This is the Place). 
If you don’t get chosen for this field trip, there will be others for you to attend. 

We are asking for a $5 donation to help cover the cost of the trip for each student. Chaperones chosen will need to pay $7 as well. This can be paid at the front Q1 office. We will be taking a bus, all chaperones can ride the bus or drive themselves.

Homework 8/26-8/30

We are doing such a great job getting all of our procedures and logins working. So for this week we will stick to a few things for homework.

Math: REFLEX to a “green light” and then keep playing until you have played for 20 minutes. (Go to classroom codes under the homework link if you cant remember how to get onto Reflex.)

Reading: Read out loud to someone for 20 minutes. If you can’t find someone to read out loud to, read silently BUT retell what you have read to a grown up when they come home.

AFTER 40 MINUTES: Go outside and enjoy the beautiful evening!!!
