2022 WE MADE IT!

Welcome back to school! I hope your Winter Break was relaxing and fun! I thoroughly enjoyed time with family and friends, and now I am ready to jump back in to the NEW YEAR with vigor and anticipation.

We will be reviewing classroom and school rules/procedures. We will also be changing our behavior system. Each child was sorted into a Hogwarts house before we departed on break. Students will earn points for their houses by the work they accomplish during the week. I will still have fun friday going, but this is another fun way for kids to work as a team. Each week an MVP of each house will be named as well, but ONLY the TOTAL amount per house, NOT individual amounts earned. Basically, 1 point per assignment, and they will earn a few extra this week for how improved they did on mid year tests. But again, all private amount except your student should be able to show you those scores on their iReady and their data sheets.

I will share the information with parents during our February Parent Teacher Conferences and make goals to help continue to learn and grow. I am very proud of our students, they have worked hard, and are really taking responsibility with their own learning. I can guide and teach to the best of my ability, but if a student doesn’t want to learn, I can NEVER force it. I feel that as a whole and on a daily basis, this group of students DO want to do their BEST and they do WANT to strive for MASTERY and maintaining their standards.

Thank you for the great example and guidance you set at home. Here we go AGAIN… xoxox

About angie.young

Hi - My name is Mrs. Young. I am excited to start a new adventure teaching at Quest Academy. I have taught previously in Weber School District in 2, 3, 4, and 6th grades. This will be the start of my 13 year. I also taught in Ogden District, before receiving my Bachelor's of Science, in special education preschool and long term subbing for math in the Jr. High Schools. My hobbies are my family!!! AND singing and acting. I have always loved art and theater. I hope to incorporate art into the technology and science to help our young minds expand to new measures. My family has been part of the education system since I was born. I have always been taught to have a passion for learning and growing. I am very excited to help my students this year to achieve all their goals and never stop fulfilling their passions in life. Welcome to 5th GRADE!!!
