Big 6

We are currently learning about the library “Big 6” steps to solving an information problem.  Students–and adults alike–can use these six steps to find and use answers they’re seeking.  These steps can be used for anything–homework assignments, family decisions, work dilemmas, etc.

1.  Task Definition
2.  Information Seeking Strategies
3.  Location and Access
4.  Use of Information
5.  Synthesis
6.  Evaluation

I had my Library Skills students make flashcards for the Big 6 last week.  They should use these to study the different components of each step.  They will take a quiz on these steps at the end of this week.  Good luck!
