Writing the Right Way!

J17- Why do victims so often feel guilt and shame? J18- Why do people tend to see/believe negative things about themselves instead of positive? J19- Write about something you connected with in ch. 13-17. J20- Do you have a sibling or loved one that you have a close relationship with? J21- Free Write

  1^st period: Apple Pie The crust smells so sweet, And it bubbles as it bakes. It melts in my mouth.   2^nd period: Unicorns With a silk-like mane Flying through the sky with ease. So magnificent!   3^rd period: Forest Animals Running through the trees, Quick and clever in their home. They are part of us!

J25- If you were to create a video game perfect for your personal interests and skills, what would it be like? J26- In eight frames, illustrate your video game. (…like a cartoon.) J27-Write a conversation you had with your favorite book character—via texting. J28- You are an author whose character just came to life, write a journal entry about what happened. J29- React to quote: “If you don’t risk anything, you’re risking everything.”  

J16- Can appearances be deceiving? J17- Write about something or someone that you misjudged. J18- Write three things you’ve learned about sharks. J19- What is your favorite work of nonfiction that you’ve read? J20- Would you choose yourself as your friend? why/why not?

J20- If you were stuck on a deserted island and could pick one person to go with you, who would it be and why? J21- On your deserted island, you get to take 4 items. What would to take and why? J22- One night, while sleeping on your island you hear… J23- ________ (one of your items that you took) came in really handy when… J24- Draw a picture of your island. Make sure to include yourself, your person, your “items” and anything else that you’ve mentioned regarding your island.

  We recently finished writing our short stories and many students wanted to share their stories with their classmates! It was fun hearing all the different and awesome stories that were written! Thanks all who shared!

Finish reading “Like Black Smoke” (p. 896) answering questions 1-7 on p. 901, and read “World Turned Upside Down…” (p. 902) and then answer questions 1-7 on p. 905. Remember to answer the “organization questions” as they read (D, E, B, C). Turn in with the two vocabulary activities that we did.
