College and Career Awareness (CCA) is a year-long required course for all 7th graders. The key reason this course is so fun is that every standard is learning through simulations or project-based experiences. This course allows students to increase their awareness of college and career pathways.
Students will explore pathways for high school, college and careers based on individual interests, abilities and skills. Students will investigate jobs that require high-skill and/or in-demand jobs in the Utah labor market. In addition to their exploration of pathways that are available, they will be learning and developing workplace skills and work ethics.
When 7th graders complete this course, they will have more clarity of academic and/or career pathways that are available after Jr. High.
