Report cards are available through TeacherEase. At this time we have been told that we are not sending printed cards home.

Talent show – we are doing a 4th grade ONLY talent show next week on Wednesday and Thursday (only if enough kids are willing to perform. If not, we will use the time for a different activity.)

Wednesday – we will also do a Field Day. Please bring sunblock because we are hoping for sun (if you are a praying person – feel free to pray for sun. If you are not cross fingers.) and we plan to go outside to do some fun and amazing chalk art!

Also, Friday is a $$paid$$ dress down, but Tuesday-Thursday next week are all FREE dress downs!

FIELD TRIP

We got permission for one last field trip. We NEED FIVE parents to come with us. We also need everyone to donate their $5 unless it is a financial hardship because otherwise we will not have enough money for the busses. This field trip is on Monday. I know that’s short notice. Please fill out this form.
Also you can pay your field trip fee ONLINE! How cool is that? You can do that here.

Summer Reading – Messages from the library

Our AMAZING librarian always finds the best ways to read over the summer. Here are some messages from her:

Weber County Summer Program

The below link is for the Weber County Summer Program, all they have to do is register & start reading.  🙂
I also talked to the kiddo’s about downloading ebooks & audiobooks from the library system, here is the link for that as well.
Once they click on the link above, they can choose what app to download for the ebooks or audiobooks.  I use the overdrive app & it works great.  This is a fabulous resource for those who cannot make it to the libraries over the summer.

Utah State Fair Summer Reading
I know, I know, stop the reading challenge email madness…lol.  This one is pretty cool & they get free stuff.
Here’s the link:

Barnes and Noble program

I’ve talked with your kiddos about summer reading programs & told them I would send you all the info so you could hopefully put it on your blogs so they can choose with their families which one they would like to participate in.  The link below is for Barnes & Noble.  This is a great program because all the students have to do is read 8 books, record the title & author on a journal & take the journal into the store once completed & they get to choose a free book.  They’ve changed it a bit this year, only accepting the journals in the month of August but they’ve also given a great list of books to read for the summer by age group.  I would appreciate you posting this on your blogs when you have time.

Thanksgiving point

Field Trip Permission Slip

We are excited to announce our next field trip! The entire fourth grade will be traveling to Thanksgiving Point to tour the Museum of Ancient Life. Our classes will be using the Frontrunner instead of busses for this field trip. The field trip will be held Tuesday, April 30. We will be meeting at the Frontrunner station on 4000 South promptly at 8:30. There will be NO RIDES provided from the school to the Frontrunner Stations. Please make arrangements to drop your student off by 8:30, as the train leaves at 8:45. Students will need to be picked up at the Frontrunner Station on 4000 South. Our train is scheduled to arrive at 3:16. Please be there on time. Again, there will be NO RIDES from the station to the school. Every student will need a signed permission slip in order to participate.

We will have no way to provide lunch for students on that day, so each student will need to bring a COLD lunch from home. There will be no microwaves or silverware, so plan appropriately!  Students will need a bag to carry their lunch in.  If you would like to attend the field trip with your student please indicate so on the permission slip. Remember to bring your lunch.

We are asking for a donation of $7 per student as there is a fee for this trip.  I have room for five free adults to come with us. More parents are welcome to come, but you will have to pay for your admission to Thanksgiving Point. I will draw for the five free, more are welcome, but just know you will be paying to attend. I will hold the drawing for free parents April 23rd and notify you if you will be paying or will be free. If you have to pay, you will pay your entrance fee at the park, not at the office. Parents not chosen for chaperones, you will need to buy your Frontrunner pass. If you can get in a group of 4, you can pay $4 for a ticket. Otherwise, the cost of a ticket is extra. No siblings are allowed on the field trip.  Any adult volunteers will be required to ride the Frontrunner with the students down to Thanksgiving Point and back. Also, just so you are aware it is approximately 1/4 mile walk from the station to the museum, and then we repeat that walk to get back on the trains. Note: Per school policy, please do not feed the students. There is a cafe and gift shop. We do not want the students to visit these areas during the trip.
Thank you,
Fourth Grade Teachers

Service Project at Quest

WHOlives is delighted to partner with you, your class and Quest Academy Monday, April 15-19 to introduce our award-winning Service Learning Program, a simple week-long activity that teaches COMPASSION, COLLABORATION AND INNOVATION in a very hands-on way. The program is simple and does not require a lot of effort. A recent grant from Brigham Young University has allowed us to offer your school a host of resources with STEM-related principles that apply to real-life problems. You can learn more at: www.WHOlives.org/learning.
