Spelling Words for the Week!

Students were given the task of brainstorming for words that end in -tion and -sion.  They went above and beyond the challenge.  We had so many words added to our word list that we had to pick out the ones we wanted to focus on for our spelling words this week.  Here is the list that the students can up with.
Spelling List #12
The Challenge word is the heading for our four challenge words that we came up with.  Have your child tell you which words are the challenge words.

Changes in how we do our spelling sorts!!!

Parents and Students,
Starting next week, we will be changing how we do our spelling sorts.  We will be working on our spelling words in class every week.  However, students are no longer required to do them at home.  I will still post the spelling sort and the feature that we will be working on for the week for you to see, but students do not need to type/write or sort them out (if you would like your child to still type/write their words at home, then go for it 😉 ).  Students will still be required to read 2o minutes every night and complete some math problems.  This will still be handed in/submitted at the end of the week.   So. look for changes to happen with the homework starting next week.  If you have any concerns, or questions, feel free to contact me!
Thanks,
Ms. Beckstead
