Field Trip Information
Field trips are always so much fun. Here is some additional information regarding the field trip.
Date: Monday, February 25th
Where: Perry Egyptian Theater in Ogden
Event: We are attending the Story Telling Festival.
Transportation: We are taking school busses up to the event. The busses will leave Quest Academy promptly at 8:45am. We will arrive back to Quest Academy around 12:00pm.
Lunch: Students will eat lunch when we return to Quest. School lunch will still be provided for those students who sign up for it in advance.
Dress: Students must wear their school uniform, and sturdy shoes. There will be a lot of walking from the busses to the Perry Egyptian Theater.
Field Trip: Story Telling Festival
On Monday, February 25th, the 5th grade will be attending the Weber State Story Telling Festival. The festival will be held at the Perry Egyptian Theater in Ogden. We will be taking busses to and from the event. Students will be attending the 9:30 and 10:30 sessions. The busses will be leaving the school promptly at 8:45am. We will be back to the school for lunch, so there is no need to pack any food. The festival will allow students to understand how to add expression and emphasis to their reading.
Each class will allow two parent chaperones to come on the field trip. Please indicate below if you would like to attend. I will randomly select the two chaperones on Wednesday, February 20th, and will let those who were selected know that they will be coming.

Quarter 3 Chapter Summaries
Chapter Summaries Due: Monday, March 18th, 2019
You can access the “Google Doc” to complete the chapter summaries on Google Classroom.
Please submit all chapter summaries through Google Classroom. If you have shared your chapter summaries with me through Google Docs, you will need to resubmit them through Google Classroom.
- You will read a 200+ page book.
- You can select any genre of book to read. You may not read a graphic novel (Diary of a Wimpy Kid or Dork Diaries cannot be selected to read for your book report).
- You will write one paragraph about each chapter, as you read it. A good paragraph gives many details and consists of at least 7 sentences with at least 10 words in each sentence.
- You will submit the Google Doc after the book has been read, and all chapter summaries have been written. You will submit the Google Doc through Google Classroom.
- We will complete the book report in class.
- Have fun reading!!

Valentine’s Day Party–Permission Form
On February 14th our class will be having our Valentine’s Party. We will be having a Valentine Card exchange in conjunction with the party. Students are welcome to bring a decorated box or bag from home. The card exchange is optional. If your student would like to participate, please remember that food items are NOT allowed with the cards. Toys, pencils, erasers, etc. are allowed to accompany cards, but are not required. Any students participating will need to bring a card for each member of our class, 23 students total.
We will also be having a class party from 1:00-3:00 pm. We will be using food items as part of our party. Please sign the permission form below to allow your child to eat any or all of the food items that will be provided.

Valentine Ram Grams
Friend “Ram” Grams will be on sale Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week before and after school for 25 cents each. Kindergarten-4th grade Ram Grams will be sold in the Q1 building, and 5th grade-junior high Ram Grams will be sold in Q2.
Ram Grams will be delivered on Thursday morning to the students’ homerooms or first period class, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
