Quest Families,
We are having a lockdown drill Thursday morning (afternoon kindergarten will have their own lockdown). Administration will be discussing the drill over the intercom with students in advance to explain and review our procedures for such drills. This may be something you want to discuss with your children ahead of time. We will reiterate to students that this is just a drill. We generally talk about this drill being necessary to keep us safe in the event that someone dangerous entered our school. Just so you are aware, classroom lights are turned off, doors are locked, and students and teachers quietly stay hidden until the drill is over. We have received training in this area by local law enforcement, and we follow the guidelines and response protocol set forth by “i love u guys”. Click here for more information. The end-of-year testing, which has been called SAGE for the past few years, is now called RISE (Readiness, Improvement, Successes, Empowerment). Our students have started taking benchmark assessments provided by RISE to help prepare them for assessments that will take place in May. We’re excited for our students to show off the many things they have learned this year!
