We are now beginning Unit 5 in Language Arts. Below are the power words, oral vocabulary words, letters, and sounds we will be mastering during the next 3 weeks. We are working on handwriting and continuing to blend sounds to read words.
We are starting into subtraction in math. This week we are learning subtraction within 5. Each child is continuing to make progress on their individual math pathway.
We love science. This week our STEM activity students think about their experiences with hot and cold weather, and learn about a real city where the sun never shines in winter. In the activity, Chill City, students experiment with different types of materials (opaque, transparent, and reflective) to figure out how to reflect light. They use this to bring light and warmth to an imaginary paper town.
