We got permission from administration to allow the kindergarten students a snack in the afternoon. Starting on Monday, you can send your child with a HEALTHY snack that doesn’t contain any nuts. We will eat this snack in the afternoon right when we go out for recess (1:50-1:55). Some healthy snack options are:
-cut up fruit or veggies, dried fruit, jerky stick, cheese stick, pretzels, goldfish crackers, healthy granola bars, etc.

If you are willing to donate snacks to have on hand for those who forget to bring a snack, that would be very much appreciated. We will start snack time on Monday August 28th.

We are excited for our FIRST DAY of school tomorrow (Tuesday)! 

What to bring: 

-Take Home Folder with ALL ABOUT ME PAGE

-Water bottle filled with water and labeled with name

-Headphones labeled with name

Drop-off: Students are invited to play outside until the 8:22 whistle. They will then line up outside the portable. (Breakfast is available everyday, prior to the start of class in the lunchroom).

Pick-up: If you are participating in the carpool parking or daycare van pickup, we will bring your child to the pick up area in the back of the school. All other students will be brought to the gate between Q1 and Q2. You are welcome to park, use the crosswalk and come get your kindergartener. You are also welcome to have another designated student (ie siblings) come get your child and take them to a pickup spot of your choosing. Students will remain with us until they have been successful transferred to the care of a parent, caretaker, sibling, or other designated person.

We frequently receive questions regarding how to navigate the Quest parking lot, for example:

• “Where do I pick up and drop off my student?”  
• “I’m hearing people talk about stacking lanes. What are they talking about?” 
• “Can I park in a stall and have my student come to me?”

The first week of school (Aug 16-21) we will NOT be having regularly scheduled Kindergarten classes. Instead, we will be giving each individual student an extensive test to help us better assess where your child is academically. We use this information to customize each child’s education and to challenge them at their current level in reading and math. Click on the link above to sign up for an appointment.

We are very excited to welcome our new students into our kindergarten class!  As a quick introduction to our class, Ms. Makayla teaches in the morning and will primarily focus on Math and Science. And Ms. Monique concentrates on Language Arts (reading) in the afternoon. But these core concepts are emphasized throughout the day because proficiency in number sense and becoming a good reader are at the heart of these early years.  We work closely together to ensure success and continuity in your child’s learning and in the classroom environment.
