We are now beginning Unit 8 in Language Arts. Below are the sight words, oral vocabulary words, letters, and sounds we will be mastering during the next 3 weeks. In addition, we continue to read decodable books and passages. You can listen to us read on SeeSaw and encourage us to read the passages we bring home each week. We are also learning to write sentences about the texts we read.
As a class in math, we will be solving addition and subtraction word problems to 10 and making teen numbers (ten and some more ones). We are continuing to practice counting to 100 and to identify the numbers 1-100. Individually, the students are working to master their current selected math standard. Ask them about their Nearpod lessons and encourage them to try the challenge activity when they master the math standard.
In science and STEM, we will be comparing how animals are alike and different. And we will be exploring how animals change their environments

We are looking forward to our upcoming Treehouse Museum field trip on Friday, March 31, 8:30-12noon.

Upcoming Events:

Our Valentines Party is coming up! Here are some Valentine’s Helpful Hints:
– We have 22 students and 2 teachers in our class.
– Only write who the Valentine is FROM. Do NOT address Valentine’s to each student (this will help the students distribute their Valentine’s in a more orderly manner).
– We will be making Valentine’s bags in class for the students to collect their Valentine’s.
Our schedule for the party will go as follows:
1. Decorate Valentines bags
2. Eat our ice cream & fruity pebble (faux Fried ice cream) snack
3. Play a Valentines game
4. Pass out Valentines to all our classmates
5. Pack up and go home!
Thanks
Ms. Monique
We are now beginning Unit 6 in Language Arts. Here are the power words, oral vocabulary words, letters, and sounds we will be mastering during the next 3 weeks.
In math, we are adding and subtracting. We are learning to be watchful for the + and – signs. We have been counting the days we are in school and we are looking forward to celebrating our 100th day of Kindergarten on February 10. We are also continuing to work on our individual math pathways (on Nearpod).
And in science and STEM, we are comparing weather patterns throughout the year. We are answering fun questions related to seasons. For example, we discovered which season our birthday occurs in and we will explore why birds lay eggs in the spring.

Quest families,
If you are planning to have your current student(s) return to Quest Academy for the 2023-2024 school year, and have not yet completed the registration, the deadline has passed and you are currently at risk of losing a position for the upcoming school year. If you would like your student(s) to retain a position at Quest Academy, please follow the instructions below to complete the registration before January 2, 2023.
If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact Stephanie Wray at swray@questac.org.
**If you have already completed the registration for your current student(s), you may disregard this message**
Please use a laptop or desktop computer to complete the registration. Our Aspire program does not always work well from a mobile device.
You will log into your Aspire parent portal HERE, or from our website under CURRENT FAMILIES, and register under the existing student ID. Please do not click on the blue box for a NEW student. You will want to click on the green or orange box (see below).
Once you log into your Aspire parent portal, you will select each of your current students individually by clicking on the box with their name. That will take you to their student Summary page. Once in the student Summary page, you will see a “registration link” such as the one below, located to the right of your student’s name.
After you click on the registration link, please:
When you have finished reviewing/signing, you will be taken to the final page where you will see the word “Complete” in green next to each of the agreements. If you see “Incomplete” in red next to any of the agreements, please review and complete that portion of the registration.
If you are not planning to have your student return to Quest for the 2023-24 school year, please contact the school.
PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to enroll an additional child (sibling) you will do so during our New Student Enrollment beginning January 3, 2023.
Thank you!
