  • Here is the spelling and vocabulary list Unit 3 Week 1
    • This week, we will be testing on r-controlled vowels
  • For math, we are starting multiplication.
  • Short day every Friday!!

Please go to prodigygame.com (or click on the link to the right, under math).  Your student’s login information is the last week’s post.  Please have your child do Prodigy for at least 15 minutes (M-Th).
I need each student/parent to use the class code: B6F93B to add to “Miss Young’s Class-3rd Grade”. That way, if you already have an account, I can see your login and password.

Please make sure your child is reading 20 minutes each night. Please fill out the Reading Log on Friday (of each week).

  • Please sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences via Bloomz. If you have not signed up for Bloomz, please do so now. The post below gives further instructions. 
    • PTC will be November 7th and 9th from 3:30 – 7:45.
  • Here is the spelling and vocabulary list Spelling and Vocabulary Unit 2 Week 4
    • This week, we will be testing on the spelling blends:  /scr/, /spr/, /thr/ and /str/.
    • Because of Halloween and no school Wednesday, we will be doing these words for this week and next week.
  • For math, we are starting perimeter
  • Field trip permission slip needs to be signed and $4 turned into the office ASAP.
    • The field trip will be on Thursday, November 9th, not Wednesday as was written on the paper. Sorry!
    • Here is a copy if you need another-Fremont Field Trip
  • Short day every Friday! 5 cans for dress down on Friday
    • this is the last day for cans!! Please bring them in!!

  • We are starting our canned food drive today with an assembly at 1:30.
  • Halloween Party and Parade on Tuesday October 31st!
    • We will start the party right after the parade
    • We will be having cookies and candy at the party, please let me know if there are any dietary restrictions.
  • No school Wednesday November 1st!

    • We will be working with words that have silent letters.
  • For math, we are starting polygons, lines, and quadrilaterals
  • Library books need to be back for library time on WEDNESDAY.

  • Witch dresses need to be brought in TOMORROW! We are dressing witches tomorrow at 1:30.
    • Here is the pattern. Page two has a double set of patterns, but you still only need one set of each thing. New Witch Dress
  • This week is a short week so we will not have spelling words!
    • For math, we are starting subtraction across zeros
    • Library books need to be back for library time on WEDNESDAY.
    • Fall Break is coming up on the 18th and 19th of October.
    • Short day every Friday! Not a dress down day.

    • Witch dresses need to be turned in for sewing by the 13th. If you are sewing yours at home, we need them by the 17th. you are welcome to send them in as soon as they are done.

    • This weeks pattern is the long o sound focusing on words with -o_e ,-oa, -ow and -old.  I will post the spelling list  under the homework tab, so you can have it at home if you would like to review with your child.  
    •   This week, we will be testing on the spelling pattern:  long i (/ie/, /y/, /igh/ and /i/) along with  /ew/ and /u/.
    • For math, we are starting subtraction without regrouping, but will move into subtraction with regrouping near the end of the week.  
    • Picture re-takes tomorrow Oct. 3. Not a dress down day!

    • The subscription service the school has been using is not working for all users. If you subscribed, but are not getting emails, don’t worry! We are trying out a few other subscription services to fix this problem. for now, try and check the blog at least once a week. 
    • On Thursday September 14th from 2:00-3:00 we will be carving apples for apple witches. Please send a medium-sized apple to school with your child by Wednesday September 13th (we will not be eating them). If you would like to volunteer, you may let me know on BLOOMZ, email or comment on this post please.  
      We will need 8 parent volunteers, 1/8 teaspoons (at least 10), and apple peelers (at least 8). If you have any of these items but cannot attend, please send them with your child, and I will make sure that they get back to you. 
    • DON’T FORGET we have early out @ 1:30 every Friday this year!!!
